Dr Lenie Galloway

With more than four decades of experience, Lenie Galloway brings exceptional depth, compassion and clinical insight to her work with clients. She qualified as a registered social worker in 1979 and has since worked across a wide range of family- and child-focused organisations, supporting individuals through complex emotional, behavioural and developmental challenges.

Guided by a deep interest in how trauma shapes human behaviour, Lenie obtained two PhD degrees with research focused on special needs education and child sexual abuse. These academic foundations continue to inform her highly attuned, person-centred approach.

In 2007, Lenie transitioned into private practice, where she broadened her clinical expertise and began integrating trauma-focused modalities into her work. She qualified in EMDR therapy in 2013 and has since completed extensive professional development in trauma and attachment disorders, Brainspotting, and Multi-Level Neuro-Processing. This diverse training allows her to tailor interventions with precision, always meeting clients where they are.

Lenie has used EMDR and related trauma therapies in a wide range of settings and presentations, with a particular focus on supporting individuals recovering from substance use disorders and process addictions. Her approach is gentle, grounded and collaborative, helping clients resolve the emotional imprints of trauma while building safety, resilience and renewed self-understanding.
